Director, Real Estate
Mark began his career as a second-generation mortgage banker, joining Bank of America after graduating with his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in 2009. During his career in lending, Mark gained experience at BofA, MetLife Home Loans, ClearPoint Funding and CMG Financial in roles focused on operations, government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) relations and multi-channel sales.
After weathering the fallout of the 2008 housing crisis, and helping homebuyers find financing in a challenging environment he was ready for his next opportunity.
Mark joined HousingWire in 2017 as a Senior Account Executive, where he helped a diverse client base find the ideal advertising solutions to drive their business forward. Mark has sat on the Board of Director of the Dallas Ft Worth Interactive Marketing Association for the past two years, and is deeply involved in the education of the advertising community.
In 2020 Mark took on a new role to stand up HousingWire's Real Estate vertical as their National Sales Director. Mark joins REAL Trends with 8 years of relationship-focused sales experience, and a diverse skill set that he’s eager to share.
Mark lives in Dallas, Texas with his golden retriever. When he’s not playing fetch, he’s either on the golf course or playing hockey. As an avid traveler, Mark is eager to visit his next destination as soon as possible!
Web Director
Upon completing his bachelor of science degree in Internet marketing at Full Sail University in 2013, Brent began freelancing and working with clients across the Boulder and Denver metro area. Brent joined our team in late 2016 as an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) specialist. In this position, Brent works on maximizing Internet traffic to the REAL Trends website.
A Boulder native, Brent enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. Mountain biking and playing baseball are two of his favorite ways to spend free time. He is also constantly striving to learn something new and improve his technology skillset.
As a self-taught web developer and tech enthusiast, Brent thrives on finding the latest and greatest innovations in the technology world. Brent has over three years of agency experience and has created over 25 websites. He looks forward to using his tech talents here at REAL Trends.
Creative Director
Bo knows. Remember the Bo Jackson Nike commercial of 1989? Well, REAL Trends’ Bo may not be nationally famous, but he does know web and graphic design. With a decade of technical and professional experience under his belt, Bo is responsible for planning and designing client websites and creating a seamless online user experience.
With a degree in Graphic Design from the University of North Dakota, Bo is responsible for designing top-notch social ads and campaigns for our clients as well as marketing materials for the company.
When he’s not glued to his computer designing amazing materials, you can find him outdoors with his wife, Lisa. They enjoy skiing, hiking and golfing. He’s a huge fan of the Michigan Wolverines college football—Go Blue!— and spends weekends with Lisa and their two children, Lucas and Kate.
He’s climbed waterfalls in Jamaica and ridden a sky coaster over the Royal Gorge in Colorado, but he says his greatest adventure is yet to come. He is driven and inspired by his parents and family members, including his brothers and sister—Bo is a triplet!
Senior Advisor
Steve, the senior advisor of REAL Trends, earned his credibility by having been in the residential real estate field since 1977. He also co-authored four books on the valuation of residential real estate brokerage firms; co-authored the 2011 book “Game Plan,” about the past and future of residential brokerage; and co-authored the 2014 book, “Game Changers: The Unfounded Fears and Future Prosperity of the Residential Real Estate Business.”
Steve has served dozens of state and local Realtor® associations and MLS organizations in a consulting capacity and has consulted with several large technology firms over the years.
Outside the business world, Steve heads outdoors to appreciate the unending beautiful nature that Colorado offers. Hiking, fly fishing and playing golf are his top hobbies. But, you’re just as likely to find him reading novels and history books. He’s an adventurer at heart, having taken a five-day horseback riding trip into the Bob Marshall Wilderness in Montana back when he was in college.
Oh, it’s important to note that he knew nothing about the wild when he did it! While we’re on the topic of college, Steve’s first out-of-college job included serving as a gas station attendant. Imagine that!
Steve is strong in his faith, which has propelled him thus far in his career. He credits his wife and two adult sons with his success. He says his driving force also comes from having the ability to do things for others. His favorite business saying is this: “When all is said and done, more is said than done.”
But be careful what you say, because one of his pet peeves is people not keeping their commitments. Leadership is important to him, and he has witnessed what a heavy impact leadership can have on a group of people. For all who have worked with him, Steve is known as the consummate professional and a true leader.
Client Services Manager
Liz joins REAL Trends with over 15 years of client relations experience. She is a graduate from Oregon State University, with a B.S. in Communication. Don’t stick her in a back corner, because she enjoys working with others and meeting new people.
Liz grew up in Colorado and now lives in Castle Rock with her husband Ryan and their kids. With 2 active kids, she’s always on the move. If she has any spare time, you’ll find her with her friends.
Managing Editor
After earning her bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of Central Florida, Tracey set out in the real world at Florida Realtors in 1994 as a communication assistant, working her way up to editor in chief of Florida Realtor magazine.
In 2004, she left the association to start her freelance writing and editing business. One of her first clients was REAL Trends, and she started working for the organization in 2005.
In 2014, Tracey was promoted to editor in chief of publications for REAL Trends. She handles the writing and editing of all REAL Trends publications, including LORE Magazine, the REAL Trends newsletter and the blog.
Tracey is married with two children. On weekends, she enjoys watching her daughter, Sofia, play tennis and volleyball, and attending Bucknell University games to watch her son, Jake, play football. She’s an avid runner (stress relief, she says!).
She also has an eye for fashion and loves to travel to the mountains to ski with her family and to New York to savor the Broadway musicals and tasty food in the restaurants. Rent, Aida, and An American in Paris are just a few of her all-time favorite musicals.
Don’t be surprised if you catch her with a Diet Coke in her hand or using her Wunderlist app; these are the two things that keep her sane in the hustle and bustle of life.
